Ditch that Plastic Tree This Year!

Alright, it's about time to ditch that sorry looking plastic tree that you drag out of the attic each year
and come on down to the farm to cut-your-own Christmas Tree! We have a ton of beautiful
Blue Spruce out here and if you search the woods, we're sure you'll find the very one that's calling
your name. You'll be hard-pressed to find a Blue Spruce for a lower price! If you're looking for an
early start on the season, we'll be here the day after Thanksgiving (Check our website for dates
and times or give us a call) Now here's the fun part! Please bring your own ropes, tie-downs,
gloves, etc... anything you need to cut your tree, drag out of the woods, and load on-top of your
vehicle. So yes, it's all the more reason to get Dad out of that lazy boy and bring him along so you
can watch him do all the work! ha ha! If you have a favorite saw, you may bring it too, or borrow
ours. And if the Christmas Elves are good to us, just maybe we'll have a steam'in cup of hot
chocolate and a marshmallow waiting by the crack'lin campfire when you arrive. For more info.
visit our website and click on the Christmas Tree banner at the bottom of the home page.

We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas!

Scrappy Completes his Journey Helping Others!

Pictured in the photo: Robert Lefief, Scrappy's designer, hands over Scrappy to his new owner Bryan Deering, along with his son Ian. Scrappy has finally completed his journey, finding a permanent home at D&W Salvage in Bad Axe, after Bryan's wife Pamela secretly bid on Scrappy as a surprise Christmas gift for her husband. Thanks to the Deering family, he'll be standing tall guarding the scrap yard gates starting this coming spring! Thanks again to everyone who donated food and funds to "Keep Scrappy Happy"!. By the end of the 2009 season, Scrappy earned 272 food items to benefit local food pantries, $350 in cash for the Thumb Breadbasket and $1,000 for the National Marfan Foundnation! We'd also like to thanks Scrappy's designer, Robert Lefief for an amazing job on this sculpture! To learn more about the charities or about Scrappy, visit http:www.DepnerFarms.com/ScrappyHappy.html

Christmas Tree Time!!!!

It's Christmas Tree Cutting Time at Depner Farms, so come on down and bring the family!
For more info, visit our website at www.DepnerFarms.com/ChristmasTrees.html Here's a pic from last
weekend, when we were surprised by a special guest from the NORTH POLE!!!! Yes, it's SANTA
and Mrs. Claus!! And guess where they bought their Christmas Tree this year? Ha ha! Yes, you
guessed it! Depner Farms of course! And if you need a Santa to visit your holiday event, just dial
1-888-41-SANTA and don't forget to leave him milk and cookies!

CORN HARVEST...

Well, it's certainly been a rough season for area farmers this year, and we weren't quite just sure how the harvest was going to turn out. If you've driven by the farm, you've probably noticed that the corn maze was still standing until a few days ago. We were waiting for the moisture to come down a bit before harvesting, but as you know when December comes upon us, anything can happen weather-wise, so it was high time to get the corn off. 9 acres of corn maze sure comes off quicker than it goes up, that's for sure!!

Scrappy SOLD and earns money for charity!

Scrappy has been SOLD on eBay and 1/2 the proceeds have been donated to a worthy charity! If you're wondering where Scrappy will make his new home, keep your eyes on the news headlines. The buyer and the charity will be unveiled by the new year! Until then, it remains a secret!!!! :)
